Privacy Policy - the CalendBoard app

Last updated: 14 July 2026

The CalendBoard app ("the App") is operated by CALENDBOARD LTD (company no. 516923562), 22 David Remez St, Kfar Saba, Israel ("we", "the Company"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who it is shared with, and how we protect it. Using the App constitutes acceptance of this policy. This is a translation for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the Hebrew version of this policy prevails.

In short: CalendBoard is a family calendar and organizer app. Your information is used solely to run the App for you and for your family members. We do not sell information to anyone, and we do not display advertising.

1. What information we collect

Account and identification data:

  • An internal User ID generated automatically when you open the App. This identifier may later be linked to an email address or a phone number, if you choose to sign in or secure your account.
  • If you choose to sign in or secure your account: the email address and name from your Google account, and/or a phone number (for sign-in and account recovery only).
  • The family or group name, the family join code, and a personal access code for a child (if one is set).

Content you create in the App:

  • Events, tasks, groups and notes, including titles, descriptions, dates, times and location (free text you type).
  • Photos and files you upload (profile pictures, attachments to events and tasks, and photos for the family photo screen).

Information about children (entered and managed by the parents):

  • The child's name, photo or avatar, personal color, and accumulated points or stars.
  • The child's tasks, challenges and rewards, and their completion history (including dates).
  • The child's personal access code (if the parent sets one).

Technical data:

  • A device identifier used for notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging token).
  • A city you select, used to calculate Shabbat times, holidays and daily halachic times.
  • Crash and technical error data (via Firebase Crashlytics), collected solely to diagnose faults, improve the App's stability and improve the user experience.

We do not collect: precise GPS location, contacts, or audio and microphone recordings, and we do not use advertising networks or marketing analytics tools.

2. How we use the information

  • To run the App: the family calendar, tasks, and the kids' space.
  • To sync the information across all family members' devices in real time.
  • To send notifications and reminders about events, tasks and challenges.
  • To display Shabbat times, holidays and daily times based on the city you selected.
  • To allow exporting events to your Google Calendar, only if you choose to enable it.
  • To maintain the App's stability and security.

3. Who the information is shared with

Within the family: Family information (events, tasks, information about the children) is visible to all family members connected to that family in the App.

In shared groups: If you choose to join a shared group (a class or after-school group, for example) or to add a child to such a group, the group's events and tasks, and the name and color of the child you added, will be visible to the members of that group, including members from other families. This sharing happens only on your initiative.

Service providers (Google / Firebase): We use Google services as the technical infrastructure for storing and backing up the information:

  • Firebase (database, file storage, authentication, notifications, crash reporting). The data is stored on Google servers in the European Union (Frankfurt).
  • Google Sign-In , if you choose to sign in with a Google account.
  • Google Calendar , only if you enable event export.
  • Address autocomplete (Google Places) , the address text you type into the location field is sent to Google to suggest addresses.

Google's use of the data is subject toGoogle's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell or rent your information to any third party, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We will disclose information only if required to do so by law.

4. Children's privacy

The App is intended for use by the whole family. Children's profiles and the information in them are created and managed by the parent or guardian, who is solely responsible for the information they enter about their children and who consents to its collection. Approving children's actions (such as earning points) is protected by a parent code. We do not knowingly collect information from children beyond what the parent enters or what is required to operate the child's personal space.

A parent or guardian may at any time view, edit or delete all information associated with their child , directly from within the App.

5. Data storage and security

The data is stored in Google's Firebase services on secure servers in the European Union, and transmission is encrypted (HTTPS). In addition to encrypting traffic, we operate security mechanisms including access controls, user authentication, andrestricting access to data on a need-to-know basis. Access to family data is restricted to family members only, through permission rules. That said, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies

Our privacy policy site does not use cookies for advertising or marketing tracking. Infrastructure providers (such as the site's hosting services) may use basic technical means required for the proper and secure operation of the service.

7. Data retention and account deletion

We retain the information for as long as the account is active. You can delete your account and the data associated with it at any time, directly from within the App: on the Profile screen, tap "Delete account and data" and confirm.

Scope of deletion:

  • If other family members are connected to the account, your membership and your personal data are deleted, and the shared family data is retained for the other family members.
  • If you are the last family member, all family data is permanently deleted (events, tasks, children's profiles and data, and photos you uploaded), including the stored files and the sign-in account.

Following a deletion request, the account and personal data are removed from our systems within a reasonable period. Technical backups may be retained for a limited time for security and recovery purposes only, and are deleted thereafter.

Alternatively, you can request deletion by email to info@calendboard.com. Please note: events you exported to your own Google Calendar are stored in your Google account and are not under our control.

8. Permissions the App requests

  • Photo access , to choose profile pictures, attachments and photos for the family screen.
  • Notifications , to send reminders about events and tasks.
  • Exact-time notifications , so reminders arrive at the time you set.
  • Internet and sync , to sync the information across devices.
  • The device's sync settings , to refresh event syncing to Google Calendar, only if you enabled calendar export.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal information, correct it, request its deletion, and request to restrict or object to its processing, in accordance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law and applicable law. Users in the European Union have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to receive a copy of the data (data portability) and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
